(Insert crunchy leaf noises here)

I'm headed back to my hometown for a quick visit to see my mom and attend some celebratory function at my childhood church. I'm so excited to wear boots and tights and sweaters and not look like an escapee from the "Seasonally Inappropriate Looney Bin."

For example, today I am wearing a lovely skirt that would look great with some tights and boots. But, our morning cool temperatures will end up in the high 80s this afternoon. Thus causing my toes to become very, very hot.

I love fall - I can't wait to see New Jersey at the prettiest time of year, even if I have a million things to do before I head out of town.

I'm hoping they'll be lots of this:

And this:

With a dash of this:

And some of this:

And hopefully NONE of this:

See ya' soon!

8 Friends Say...:

  1. Color me jealous!! I used to hate fall because it meant the end of summer--obviously, as a teenager/college student, life revolves around summer. Now, I love fall. It just makes me happy. I could do without the darker mornings though. Have a wonderful trip!

  2. Fun! I'm going to my hometown this weekend too and hoping for exactly the same thing. I'm DYING to wear my new riding boots!! But it's 80+ degrees! Hurry up cool weather.

  3. have fun with your real fall...the weather here is more summer than anything else. It feels highly inappropriate to be putting up halloween decor while it is 80 degrees out.

  4. Oh I wish we had colourful autumn like that here our leaves go boring brown and fall off!! Enjoy wearing your warmer clothes :)

  5. Be sure to kick Danielle and Eli Manning in the "pumpkins" for me (then kiss and hug your mom!...because I'm not a complete monster)

  6. That last pic is too funny. I agree with Jen, Eli needs a kick in the pumpkins.

Hope you had a nice weekend, despite the stress that comes with travel and family. Sorry we couldn't meet up. It WILL happen some day. :-)

  7. Hope you had a terrific trip home & enjoyed actual fall, versus the completely fake "fall" we're experiencing here!

And that Danielle photo is enough to send me headfirst into the chardonnay bin. Not that I need much of an excuse, but...
